Ancient Egyptian Mysteries

Puzzle 1 of 10

The Silent Guardian

At day I watch travelers pass,

At night I see the stars amass.

Once I had a nose, or so they say,

A riddle is my claim to fame.

I am a mythical creature with the head of a human and body of a lion.
I stand guard near the pyramids of Giza.
My most distinctive feature is damaged - my nose is missing.
